    Some of Canada’s smallest condos proposed for Metro Vancouver

    Great things come in small packages – homes included, which is why developer Tien Sher is looking to build one of the country’s smallest condominium developments in Surrey, B.C.

    According to an article in the Metro, the plan is to put 56 micro-lofts between 290-square-feet and 635-square feet in the four-storey Balance Condos development slated for a site near the Gateway SkyTrain station on 108th Ave.

    Tien Sher president Charan Sethi told the Metro he was inspired to build small after Vancouver’s Burns Block micro-lofts were so enthusiastically snatched up earlier this year. Read more

    If you’ve had the chance to visit downtown Surrey lately, you’ll have noticed the changes which are taking place.

    According to an article in The Vancouver Province, more than $2 billion in developments are taking shape within a space of six square kilometers. $1.1 billion of the money is going toward more than 9,500 new homes which are either planned or are under construction

    Not only that, but construction on the tallest tower in Surrey, Civic Plaza 3, is set to start next year.

    Century Group unveils the tallest building in Surrey

    Height matters. There are plenty of folks who think so anyway…

    This week we told you about 432 Park Avenue, the soon to be highest roof in New York City. Today, we’ve got a story about plans for the tallest building in Surrey.

    And, to give you an idea of the height, the picture on the left is just a teaser of the building’s midsection!

    On Thursday, Century Group unveiled plans for a 50-storey mixed-use hotel and residential project called 3 Civic Plaza. The project will be located at City Parkway and 104th Avenue and is a partnership between Century Group and Surrey City Development Corporation.

    At 517 feet high, the building will be the tallest in Surrey and the fifth tallest in the Lower Mainland. Read more

    Unique “E-drama” goes live at Surrey Central City Mall

    A new reality show has hit Surrey Central City Mall, and its all in the name of promoting a condo project.

    Wave, a 500-suite Surrey development by Rize Alliance, has built one of its two-bedroom and den suites in the mall, complete with glass walls and three full-time professional actors to navigate the space.

    The actors (Leana Yu, Jas Dhillon, and John Perrotta) will spend 10 hours daily in the home for 45 days. The project will also feature eight secondary actors, a CBC scriptwriter, a video and lighting production team, and live web streaming. Word on the street is that local celebrities will be making cameos too. Read more
