Azerbaijan planning to build the world’s tallest skyscraper… That’s right, Azerbaijan!

Posted on | buzzhomeblog Posted in TECH, WATER COOLER | Leave a comment

This is the type of thing we’d expect from Dubai or Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, but we’re a little surprised to hear that Azerbaijan has ambitions of building the world’s tallest skyscraper.

The current plan has the Azerbaijan Tower pegged at 1,050 metres with 189 floors. That’s 220 metres taller than the Burj Khalifa and 50 metres taller than the Kingdom Tower planned for Jeddah.

Okay, we know what you’re thinking. “Big deal, another super tall skyscraper, just build a ladder to the moon already.” Well, the difference here is the Avesta Group of Companies, the company financing the project, aren’t building it in the capital city (Baku, for all you trivia nerds out there). Posted on | buzzhomeblog Posted in TECH, WATER COOLER | 3 Comments

In a very unpatriotic move, Canadians polled by Ipsos Reid on their top brands named Apple their fave, followed by Google and Ikea.

We’ve just gotta ask, where’s the timbit love guys?

We guess it’s forgivable, the survey asked 1,013 Canadian adults what the country’s most “leading edge” brand is and Tim’s, while still an early morning necessity, isn’t exactly a leading edge brand. Read more
