This week we told you about 432 Park Avenue, the soon to be highest roof in New York City. Today, we’ve got a story about plans for the tallest building in Surrey.
And, to give you an idea of the height, the picture on the left is just a teaser of the building’s midsection!
On Thursday, Century Group unveiled plans for a 50-storey mixed-use hotel and residential project called 3 Civic Plaza. The project will be located at City Parkway and 104th Avenue and is a partnership between Century Group and Surrey City Development Corporation.
At 517 feet high, the building will be the tallest in Surrey and the fifth tallest in the Lower Mainland.
In an article in the Vancouver Sun, President of Century Group Sean Hodgins said that ”[i]nvesting in the new Surrey City Centre is essential to create the conditions for success — the kind of place we can all be proud to call home.”
The project will include a hotel which will feature 16o guest rooms. Above the hotel, there will be approximately 330 residential units. In the Vancouver Sun article, Surrey Mayor Diane Watts said, “3 Civic Plaza is a great example of how change, innovation and collaborative partnerships will help bring our vision for Surrey City Centre to life,” Watts said. “Projects like these will help us create vibrant, livable, sustainable communities and prepare Surrey for growth in the coming years.”
Apparently, taller is better in Surrey. Check out the full rendering of 3 Civic Plaza below:
